System Administrator
The System Administrator will support and optimize Insurity’s public and private cloud environments, maintaining performance, reliability, and security across daily operations. The role includes system administration, application support, automation, troubleshooting of production and infrastructure issues, and contributing to platform stability and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Work with senior administrators in troubleshooting and triaging activities.
- Contribute to changes in host and guest configurations.
- Help diagnose system performance problems with senior administrators.
- Assist with monitoring and capacity planning activities.
- Recommend best practices to identify operational gaps.
- Manage individual projects, including private cloud initiatives.
- Support the operations team’s application and infrastructure across various technology areas.
- Use modern AI assistants and operational tools to improve day‑to‑day troubleshooting and efficiency.
- Participate in rotating on‑call support for hosted and non‑hosted customers.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices through reading relevant materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience configuring and deploying IIS, with end‑to‑end application flow knowledge.
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration (2008 and above).
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
- Exposure to monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Nagios, or AppDynamics.
- Understanding of HTTP/S protocols, load balancing, DNS, and network security concepts.
- Hands‑on experience with PowerShell scripting and process automation.
- Familiarity with SQL Server and backend database connectivity.
- Understanding of system performance tuning, capacity planning, and root‑cause analysis.
- Exposure to modern operational practices, including AI‑assisted tools for troubleshooting and administration.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong time management, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Self‑starter with a collaborative approach and willingness to mentor others.
- Adaptable to changing priorities and evolving technologies.
- Travel required – minimal, limited to training, team collaboration, or data center requirements.
Preferred Certifications
- AWS or Azure Administrator Associate Certification
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
Experience: 2‑4 years of hands‑on experience in system administration, infrastructure management, or cloud operations (public/private cloud environments) and application configuration.
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
