This senior engineering role focuses on building the frontend platform that powers highly customized user experiences at significant scale.
You’ll help architect and evolve a runtime platform supporting interfaces used by customers worldwide.
The position combines frontend engineering, platform architecture, scalable UI development, and operational excellence in a high-impact environment.
You’ll work extensively with React, Node.js, TypeScript, and Ruby while applying microfrontend concepts to create flexible and maintainable experiences.
The role involves close collaboration with engineering, product, and other cross-functional teams to make the platform easy to adopt across development teams.
You’ll also contribute to system reliability, production support, technical standards, and long-term investments in performance and scalability.

Accountabilities:

• Frontend platform architecture: Architect, develop, and maintain the runtime platform supporting customized frontend experiences, with a focus on robustness, scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Scalable UI development: Design and build sophisticated user interfaces using microfrontend concepts to deliver flexible, intuitive, and high-quality user experiences.
• Platform enablement: Develop frontend platform capabilities that allow engineering and product teams to build and customize experiences efficiently and consistently at scale.
• Software engineering: Write clean, efficient, well-tested, and well-documented code while following established engineering standards and best practices.
• Technology development: Work primarily with React, Node.js, TypeScript, and Ruby to develop and evolve frontend platform capabilities and supporting services.
• Reliability and operations: Monitor production UIs and services, tune alerts, respond to production incidents, and contribute to operational practices supporting a target of 99.99% uptime.
• Technical standards: Contribute to engineering standards, operational processes, architecture decisions, and practices that improve the stability and effectiveness of production systems.
• Performance and scalability: Identify and recommend technical investments that strengthen service stability, runtime performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• CI/CD: Build and improve modern Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery systems that enable reliable, deterministic, and efficient releases.
• Operational support: Develop intuitive and scalable operational support strategies that enable engineering teams, including more junior developers, to effectively support production services.
• Strategic planning: Support technical leadership in assessing short- and long-term objectives and balancing immediate delivery needs with sustainable platform improvements.
• Mentorship: Mentor junior developers and contribute to their technical and professional development through guidance, feedback, and knowledge sharing.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner closely with frontend engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions and new user experiences.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Professional experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience, including experience with test-driven development and UI/API design.
• Frontend expertise: Strong experience with modern frontend technologies, particularly React and TypeScript.
• Backend experience: Experience with Node.js and/or Ruby on Rails, with familiarity across frontend and backend technologies.
• Production operations: 5+ years of experience monitoring production systems, tuning alerts, responding to production incidents, and improving operational reliability.
• Scalability mindset: Demonstrated ability to recommend and implement technical investments that improve system stability, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• CI/CD expertise: Experience building or contributing to modern Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery systems that support predictable and deterministic releases.
• UI architecture: Strong understanding of scalable UI architecture, with experience applying microfrontend concepts or comparable approaches to complex frontend platforms.
• Technical judgment: Ability to balance short-term delivery priorities with longer-term architectural, operational, and engineering goals.
• Operational strategy: Ability to develop practical support strategies and processes that help engineering teams effectively operate production systems.
• Distributed collaboration: Experience working effectively in remote and distributed team environments.
• Communication: Fluent spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly with technical and cross-functional stakeholders.
