Job summary

Geminus Tech in Pune, India, is seeking an embedded systems engineer to join our hardware-software integration effort. You will set up systems, perform hardware bring-up, and support OS flashing across Raspberry Pi, SOM, and evaluation boards.

You will build and maintain firmware, configure RMK build environments, and help establish CI workflows across multiple boards. The role requires hands-on hardware experience and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Setup & Hardware Integration

• Configure and manage embedded hardware systems including HOST, evaluation board and System-on-Module (SOM) , and Raspberry Pi (RPI).
  
• Perform board bring-up and validate complete system workflows.
  
• Handle hardware interconnections and ensure stable communication between components.
  

2. Firmware Development & Build Management

• Set up and maintain RMK build environments including dependency installation and environment configuration.
  
• Build firmware binaries and support deployment for manufacturing and testing.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve build failures and configuration issues.
  

3. Manufacturing & Deployment

• Execute manufacturing processes based on provided documentation.
  
• Perform OS installation across platforms (RPI, evaluation board and System-on-Module (SOM) , HOST), including image selection, flashing, and boot setup.
  
• Validate manufacturing workflows using generated firmware binaries.
  

4. Continuous Integration (CI) Setup

• Configure and maintain CI setups across multiple systems and environments.
  
• Set up and manage CI infrastructure for new boards (e.g., Micro-Processor Board).
  
• Configure networking (static IPs) to ensure stable automated workflows.
  

5. System Updates & Maintenance

• Perform end-to-end update processes for the evaluation board and System-on-Module (SOM) devices across CI setups.
  
• Ensure system stability, connectivity, and performance across test environments.
  

6. Collaboration & Problem Solving

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.
  
• Contribute to documentation and follow established processes for system setup and deployment.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of embedded systems and hardware-software interaction.
  
• Experience with Linux-based systems and OS flashing tools.
  
• Familiarity with firmware build systems and environment configuration.
  
• Knowledge of networking basics (IP configuration, Remote sessions, connectivity validation).
  
• Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi, MicroZed, or similar platforms is a plus.
  
• Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot build and system issues.
  
• C Programming, Python or Bash scripting is a Plus.
  

Requirements

• Exposure to CI/CD environments and automation setups.
  
• Experience in manufacturing workflows or production environments.
  
• Understanding of firmware deployment and board-level debugging.
