Job summary

Axiamatic is seeking a senior engineer to join our Data team. You will design and build AI-driven features on top of customer business data, own them in production, and help grow a team of engineers. The role focuses on end-to-end ownership from ideation to deployment.

You will work with a stack that includes Python and Java, architect microservices, model data with SQL/NoSQL, and leverage AWS services. Collaboration with product and other teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Expert-level Python and Java.
• Experience designing and running microservices in production.
• Strong database skills across SQL and NoSQL with data modeling and performance tuning.
• Hands-on AWS experience deploying/operating production services (containers, serverless, monitoring).
• Daily use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) as part of daily workflow.
• Experience building on top of these tools (custom agents, skills, plugins, workflows).
• Ability to take vague problems and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Comfort with trying new ideas quickly and discarding what doesn’t work.
• Strong ownership of quality and reliability in production.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading design discussions.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical people.

About the role

We're looking for a senior engineer to join our Data team. The team builds AI-driven product features on top of customer business data. You'll design and build new features from scratch, own them in production, and help grow a team of less experienced engineers.

What we expect

• - 7 or more years of software engineering experience. Expert-level Python is required, and working experience with Java is also expected.
• - Experience designing and running microservices in production, including APIs, service-to-service communication and background processing.
• - Strong database skills across both relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and performance tuning.
• - Hands-on AWS experience deploying and running production services, such as containers, serverless and monitoring.
• - Daily, hands-on use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor as a core part of how you work.
• - Experience building on top of these tools, for example writing custom agents, skills, plugins or automated workflows.
• - Ability to take a vague problem, come up with a creative solution, and deliver it end to end.
• - Comfort with trying new ideas quickly and dropping the ones that don't work.
• - Strong ownership of quality and reliability in production.
• - Experience mentoring engineers and leading design discussions.
• - Clear communication with both technical and non-technical people.
