You will work on expanding and evolving the Windows app platform, contributing to the technologies that developers rely on to build engaging applications for Windows. This is a unique opportunity to influence Microsoft technology while collaborating with top talent across various product groups.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software components and APIs for the Windows Developer Platform.
• Build tools and libraries that empower first-party and third-party developers to build next-gen Windows apps.
• Ensure APIs follow scalable, consistent, and maintainable patterns.
• Prototype and explore innovative solutions to expand developer capabilities.
• Collaborate with Program Managers, Architects, and AI/ML Scientists to drive the platform’s strategic direction.
• Contribute to open-source initiatives and engage with the developer community via GitHub.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong skills in C/C++ (C# is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of software design principles, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Experience with open-source contributions on GitHub.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proven collaboration experience across teams or disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Windows SDK, Visual Studio, or XAML.
• Experience in Win32 application/system-level programming.
• Exposure to cloud-based development (especially Azure) is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with production-grade software and scalable architecture design.
• Experience developing software that follows performance, reliability, and power best practices.

Other Requirements:

This role may require passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check, which is conducted upon hire and every two years thereafter.
