Job summary

Doist seeks a senior software engineer to design and implement scalable web features across frontend and backend services. You will own critical components, debug complex issues, and optimize performance for a cloud-native, microservices-based platform.

You will mentor junior engineers, participate in cross-team code reviews, and collaborate with Product, QA, and DevOps to deliver enterprise SaaS solutions from Pune, on-site. A degree in a technical field and 5+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with designing and implementing scalable web features is preferred.

The Mission: What You’ll Be Building

You will be a core contributor in the design, development, and implementation of new models and procedures. You will provide technical guidance, mentor junior team members, and leverage in-depth professional knowledge to develop solutions in cloud-native architectures, microservices, and Agile product development. You will be instrumental in building the next generation of our platform, which features core pillars like:

• Adaptive Applications: The intelligent backbone powering the manufacturing enterprise.
• Champion AI: Agentic AI for manufacturing that drives measurable productivity and growth.

Your Impact/ What you will be doing

Independent Design & Implementation: Independently design, implement, and lead the development and testing of scalable web application features. Take end-to-end ownership of critical components across modern frontend frameworks and robust backend services.

Complex Problem Resolution: Provide solutions to complex issues in creative and effective ways. Proactively debug, diagnose, and resolve a wide range of complex technical issues and performance bottlenecks across the stack with limited guidance. Understand the interrelationships of different disciplines and apply this knowledge to system design.

Technical Guidance & Mentorship: Serve as a subject matter expert to mentor junior engineers, lead complex cross-team code reviews, and help set quality and performance standards. Adapt style to differing audiences and often advise others on difficult matters.

Code for Scale & Efficiency: Optimize existing code and system architecture for performance, scalability, and maintainability, translating complex product and technical requirements into clean, efficient, and working code.

Strategic Collaboration: Engage in cross-functional collaboration with Product, QA, and DevOps to deliver world-class enterprise SaaS products used by global customers. Enhance relationships and networks with senior internal/external partners.

Tactical Accountability: Determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Work is done independently and is reviewed at critical points.

Degree: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related professional software development experience.

Location: This is an on-site opportunity based in Pune with 3-4 days work from the office. Only candidates willing to be based in Pune will be eligible.
