Job summary

QAD is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to independently drive solutions for enterprise SaaS products in a Pune on-site role. You will contribute to cloud-native architectures, microservices, and scalable web features that support our System of Action for manufacturing.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and implement end-to-end features, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with Product, QA, and DevOps to deliver high-quality enterprise software with Champion Pace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
• On-site Pune-based role; willing to work from the office 3–4 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, implement, and lead the development of scalable web features with end-to-end ownership.
• Debug, diagnose, and resolve complex issues across the stack with limited guidance.
• Mentor junior engineers, lead cross-team code reviews, and set engineering quality standards.

You Will Be a Core Contributor In The Design, Development, And Implementation Of New Models And Procedures. You Will Provide Technical Guidance, Mentor Junior Team Members, And Leverage In-depth Professional Knowledge To Develop Solutions In Cloud-native Architectures, Microservices, And Agile Product Development. You Will Be Instrumental In Building The Next Generation Of Our Platform, Which Features Core Pillars Like

Your Impact/ What You Will Be Doing

• Independent Design & Implementation: Independently design, implement, and lead the development and testing of scalable web application features. Take end-to-end ownership of critical components across modern frontend frameworks and robust backend services.
• Complex Problem Resolution: Provide solutions to complex issues in creative and effective ways. Proactively debug, diagnose, and resolve a wide range of complex technical issues and performance bottlenecks across the stack with limited guidance. Understand the interrelationships of different disciplines and apply this knowledge to system design.
• Technical Guidance & Mentorship: Serve as a subject matter expert to mentor junior engineers, lead complex cross-team code reviews, and help set quality and performance standards. Adapt style to differing audiences and often advise others on difficult matters.
• Code for Scale & Efficiency: Optimize existing code and system architecture for performance, scalability, and maintainability, translating complex product and technical requirements into clean, efficient, and working code.

Core Technical Foundations / What We Are Looking For

• Mastery in Data Structures & Algorithms: A strong foundation, including a clear understanding of time and space complexity.
• OOP Fundamentals: A solid grasp of Object-Oriented Programming concepts is essential.
• Web Basics: Foundational knowledge of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and backend programming (Java, JavaScript/Node.js, or Python).
• Architectural Awareness: Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and end-to-end application communication, as well as an awareness of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and data modeling.
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git.

Qualifications

• Degree: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5 to 8 years of related professional software development experience.
• Location: This is an on-site opportunity based in Pune with 3-4 days work from the office. Only candidates willing to be based in Pune will be eligible.
