Job summary

Priceline in Mumbai offers a Senior Software Engineer - Backend role in a hybrid model. You will design and maintain Java-based back end systems and REST APIs supporting high-volume travel searches. The team emphasizes mentoring, performance, and scalable architecture in a fast-paced Agile environment.

You should have 6+ years in software engineering, strong Java and SQL skills, and experience with Spring, Cloud (GCP), and microservices. Kubernetes and Docker experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering and development.
• Exceptional coding experience with Java.
• Strong SQL skills for data queries and analytics.
• Experience with Spring Frameworks, Web Services and APIs.
• Cloud experience, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience in Microservices, Kubernetes (GKE), and Docker.
• Proven design and architecture of scalable, high-performance applications.
• Mentor and influence less experienced developers.

This role is eligible for our hybrid work model: Two days in-office Senior Software Engineer - Backend Our Technology team is the backbone of our company: constantly creating, testing, learning and iterating to better meet the needs of our customers.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering and development.
• Exceptional coding experience with Java.
• An interest in being a mentor and influencing best practices with less experienced developers.
• Strong grasp of SQL compositions skills for composing queries and analysis.
• Confident with the utilization of Spring Frameworks, Web Services and APIs.
• Experience with developing on Cloud, especially GCP.
• Experience in Microservices, Kubernetes (GKE preferable), and Dockers.
• Proven ability in Design and Architecture of complex, highly scalable and performance driven applications.
• Illustrated history of living the values necessary to Priceline: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability and Trust.
