Job summary

Moody’s Platform Engineering team is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to design, build, and support scalable services for a multi-tenant SaaS platform.

You will own major features from architecture through production, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and mentor peers to raise engineering standards across the platform.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in backend or platform engineering across scalable systems.
• Proficiency in OO design, clean coding, and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and cloud-native apps using Docker/Kubernetes/AWS.
• Own features through design to production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and support scalable backend services and APIs for a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
• Own significant features and technical components from architecture through production operations.
• Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.
• Contribute to architecture and code reviews and promote engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices; ensure scalability, security, reliability, observability.

Skills And Competencies

• 6+ years of backend or platform engineering experience building scalable, production-grade systems
• Strong proficiency in C#/.NET or Java, with expertise in object-oriented design, clean coding practices, and service-oriented architectures
• Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
• Proven ability to own features and services throughout the software development lifecycle, from design through production support
• Strong foundation in system design, algorithms, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring capabilities within Agile engineering environments
