Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – STB Development (Loader & CAS)

2 to 5 years of experience in Set-Top Box (STB) development

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced STB Software Engineer with strong expertise in bootloader (loader) and Conditional Access Systems (CAS). The role involves designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining low-level and middleware software for digital Set-Top Boxes used in cable, satellite, or IPTV environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain bootloader (loader) software for STB platforms
• Develop and integrate CAS solutions (e.g., Nagra, Irdeto, Verimatrix, NSTV, etc.)
• Work on secure boot, authentication, and key management mechanisms
• Integrate CAS with middleware, drivers, and application layers
• Debug and optimize low-level software, including startup, flash, and memory management
• Collaborate with hardware, middleware, and QA teams for system integration
• Support STB certification, compliance, and operator requirements
• Analyze and resolve performance, security, and stability issues
• Maintain technical documentation and coding standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field
• Strong experience in STB software development
• Hands-on experience with bootloader development (U-Boot or custom loaders)
• Solid knowledge of Conditional Access Systems (CAS)
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming
• Experience with Embedded Linux or RTOS environments
• Understanding of secure boot, encryption, DRM, and key management
• Experience with SoC platforms (MTK/Airoha, National, Ali, Broadcom, Amlogic, STMicroelectronics, etc.)
• Strong debugging skills using JTAG, logs, and emulators

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with DVB, IPTV, or OTT STB platforms
• Knowledge of TPM, TEE, or secure hardware modules
• Experience with OTA updates and flash memory management
• Familiarity with middleware frameworks (RDK, OpenTV, Android TV, custom middleware)
• Experience working with operators and certification labs
