Job summary

Akamai Technologies in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the CTG Engineering team. You will build secure software, design scalable systems, and develop tools to improve engineering productivity across frontend and backend for vulnerability management.

Responsibilities include creating features, maintaining build systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business goals while ensuring reliability and security at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience with CS degree.
• OO languages: Python, Java, Go, or C/C++.
• Experience with build systems: CMake, Bazel, Cargo, Meson and GCC/Clang.
• Familiarity with multi-architecture compilation (ARM64 and x86).
• Experience with REST/microservices, databases and SQL.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (CloudBees/Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab).

Responsibilities

• Create new features and build tools from concept to release to ensure great customer experience.
• Design and develop highly scalable software on Akamai infrastructure.
• Develop software to enhance engineering productivity, including frontend and backend for vulnerability management.
• Design, maintain, and scale multi-platform build systems and optimize build performance.
• Collaborate with internal teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Drive feature development and contribute to product/process improvements.

You will gather requirements, design, implement, and maintain build and infrastructure tools used by development and test teams. Following industry best practices with a focus on software security, reliability, and scalability.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Creating new features and building tools from conception through release to ensure customers have an exceptional experience
• Designing and development of highly scalable software that runs on the Akamai infrastructure
• Developing software to enhance our engineering productivity by creating frontend and backend for our vulnerability management
• Designing, maintain, and scale multi-platform build systems and optimize build performance parallelism, and efficient dependency management across target architectures.
• Partnering with internal cross functional teams to translate requirements into solutions to meet business objectives
• Driving feature development and optimization while contributing to ongoing product and process improvements.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5 and more years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent
• Have object-oriented programming skills in Python, Java, Go, or C/C++, with an eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Have experience with multi-platform build systems such as CMake, Bazel, Cargo, or Meson, including GCC/Clang compiler and toolchain configuration.
• Have experience with multi-architecture compilation across AArch64/ARMv8/ARMv9 and Intel/AMD platforms.
• Possess hands on experience with service-oriented architecture, REST, microservices, databases and SQL
• Have experience with any CI/CD tools (i.e. Cloudbees CI/Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Gitlab etc )
• Possess hands on experience with service-oriented architecture, REST, microservices, databases and SQL
• Be able to understand security, compliance & SLA.
