Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a Senior Engineer to design and build scalable web applications using React.js, Next.js, Node.js, and Express.js. You will create high-performance APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and microservices with event-driven patterns for real-time features.

You will implement CI/CD pipelines, containerize with Docker, and orchestrate with Kubernetes, while ensuring 99.9%+ uptime, security, and accessibility. You’ll mentor teammates and contribute to architectural decisions across the stack.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing end-to-end web applications using modern JS stack.
• Knowledge of microservices with event-driven patterns and real-time features.

What We’re Looking For:

• 8+ years experienced engineers
• Node.js Performance Mastery: Memory profiling, event loop optimization, clustering, and advanced performance tuning
• High Availability Architecture: Design 99.9%+ uptime systems with failover mechanisms, disaster recovery, and multi-region deployments
• Scalability Engineering: Microservices decomposition, horizontal scaling, load balancing, and massive scale design patterns
• Modern Frontend Development: React 18+, Next.js 14+, TypeScript, and advanced performance optimization techniques
• Database Expertise: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis with sharding strategies, query optimization, and connection management
• API Design & Development: RESTful APIs, GraphQL, tRPC with proper versioning, authentication, and authorization implementation
• DevOps & Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD), and infrastructure as code
• Security & Monitoring: Security scanning, vulnerability management, Datadog, Sentry, and comprehensive logging best practices
• Frontend Excellence: CSS architecture (Tailwind CSS, styled-components), accessibility compliance (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility
