Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a seasoned data analytics professional in Bangalore to design scalable data architectures and deliver BI insights. You will mentor junior analysts, own pipelines across AWS, Redshift, Snowflake, and Tableau/ThoughtSpot dashboards, and collaborate with product and engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires 5+ years in analytics, strong SQL/Python skills, and hands-on experience with AI/LLM tools; occasional weekends and 2nd shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, BI or related fields.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in designing and implementing data architectures.
• Advanced proficiency with Alteryx and Knime; strong Tableau/ThoughtSpot experience.
• Advanced SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Redshift, Snowflake, GCP).
• Experience mentoring junior team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities; willingness to work 2nd shift and Bangalore office 3 days/week.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM tools and agile methodologies.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement robust data architectures that support business intelligence and analytics initiatives
• Support the development and optimization of data processing pipelines using industry-standard tools
• Champion data quality, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with company policies across all analytics projects
• Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders
• Liaise with technical product manager to help manage prioritization of items in product backlog for ongoing sprints
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and deliver analytical solutions
• Mentor and manage junior data analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data analytics
• Create and maintain data dictionaries and documentation on architectural designs, process flows & methodologies

What we are looking for

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related fields
• Must have 3+ years of hands on experience in creating data architecture designs and implementation
• Advanced proficiency with data processing technologies such as Alteryx and Knime. Strong experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau, ThoughtSpot, or similar tools
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex query development and database optimization. Strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation and analysis
• Hands on experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, RedShift, Snowflake, GCP, etc.). Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring junior team members
• Excellent team collaboration and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Must be willing and able to work in 2nd shifts (3:00 PM IST to 12:00 AM IST) and occasional weekends as required
• Must be willing to work from Bangalore office location minimum 3 days in a week. Hands on experience with AI/LLM tools (e.g., Claude code, Copilot, etc.).
• Knowledge of R programming, Familiarity with agile methodologies and Relevant certifications in data analytics or business intelligence
