Job summary

JioStar seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead design and development of core ad tech systems, from delivery to measurement and optimization. You will own large-scale projects end to end, work with autonomy, and shape architecture for high-throughput, low-latency platforms.

You’ll own large-scale projects end to end, operate with autonomy, and play a key role in shaping the architecture and future direction of our high-throughput, low-latency systems. Key responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable, resilient microservices that power JioStar's ad tech stack
• Own end-to-end delivery of complex backend projects, from technical design to deployment and monitoring
• Write high-quality, maintainable code, and ensure rigorous testing and fault tolerance
• Drive architectural decisions and influence long-term engineering strategy for the team
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into tech solutions
• Take ownership of operational excellence, including performance tuning, incident response, and root cause analysis
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct technical deep dives and code reviews, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing

Skills and attributes for success:

• Proficiency in Java, Golang, or Python
• Experience designing and building distributed systems at scale
• Strong understanding of storage systems, query performance, and caching strategies
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), messaging systems (Kafka), and CI/CD pipelines
• Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage delivery timelines in fast-paced environments
• You are passionate about growing engineers and leading by example
• Curious about how advertising systems work and how to optimize them for user and business outcomes

Preferred education and experience:

• Bachelors/master's in computer science or a related field with 4-7 years of experience in backend development.
