Job summary

Luxoft is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design and implement software for high-performance data networking products. You will join a dynamic engineering team and work on Broadcom ASICs such as Trident, Jericho, or Qumran.

Responsibilities include requirements analysis, design reviews, and delivering robust software across the full product life cycle, with a focus on performance, interop, and security. Strong C/C++ and networking expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S./B.E./B.Tech in CS/EE/ECE/IT or equivalent required.
• 8+ years of experience in Networking/Telecom- Embedded/Network Management.
• Strong programming in C/C++ and knowledge of packet forwarding.
• Experience with Broadcom ASICs such as Trident, Jericho, or Qumran.
• Knowledge of HW resources like TCAM, buffers, RIB/FIB; IPv4/IPv6 routing.
• Familiarity with MPLS, VPLS, VRF, L3VPN, VxLAN; SDN/Openflow.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Lead datapath team and coordinate across organization lines.
• Create functional and design specs and drive sign-off with multiple teams.

Perform embedded system software design and implementation for leading high-performance data networking products as a member of a highly capable and dynamic engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, design, develop and deliver high quality software along with functional teams.
• Participate in SW Design reviews, articulate system software requirements
• Propose design architectures and solutions for new features and enhancements on Broadcom ASICs
• Experiment and project various performance/scale tweaks with optimal use of Board HW devices and SW resource
• Demonstrate cross functional collaboration with Product Marketing, SQA and other development teams to ensure software meets all performance, scalability, interop, and security requirements
• Lead datapath team, interact cross functionally on matters that require coordination across organization lines.
• Write functional and design specification documents and drive sign-off. Interface with developers, QA, documentation & customer support & program management teams.
• Participate in full product life cycle development.

SKILLS

Must have

• Minimum of B.S./B.E./B.Tech in CS/EE/ECE/IT
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience in Networking/Telecom- Embedded/Network Management
• Excellent programming knowledge in C/C++
• Experience in software or hardware-based packet forwarding

• Software management of networking HW resources such as TCAM, packet buffers & RIB/FIB

• LLDP, LAG/LACP, Layer 2 switching, Ethernet
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

• Understanding of system architecture, SDK or Drivers for network processor or traffic manager
