Job summary

Optum is hiring a software-enabled Cloud Operations professional in India to automate deployments and manage cloud infrastructure across major clouds. You will define procedures for operations and ensure reliable, scalable systems, while supporting a 24/7 on-call rotation.

The role requires 5+ years in automation and cloud administration, with hands-on experience in GCP/AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related field.
• 5+ years of automation and administration of IT systems.
• 3+ years of cloud infrastructure and deployed applications in public clouds (GCP preferred).
• 1+ years programming in Python or Node.js.
• 1+ years creating CI/CD processes or managing Kubernetes or Terraform pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive automation of cloud operations and deployment using different toolsets.
• Define and drive implementation of Cloud Operations procedures.
• Define and implement effective and reliable cloud infrastructure.
• Provide 24/7 shift-based support with rotating on-call.
• Comply with employment contracts and company policies, including possible transfers or changes.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Works as a software developer in the cloud operations team
• Define and drive automation of cloud operations and deployment using different toolset
• Define and drive implementation of Cloud Operations procedures
• Define and implement effective and reliable cloud infrastructure
• 247 shift-based support with rotating on-call
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor''s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent certification
• 5+ years of experience in automation and administration of IT systems including compute resources, network, storage, general access control.
• 3+ years of proven record of experience and success in administration of cloud infrastructure and deployed applications for enterprise SaaS or PaaS companies in public clouds such as GCP (Preferred), AWS, Azure
• 1+ years of programming experience in any of the platforms like python, node.js, or any other language
• 1+ years of experience in creating CI/CD processes or managing Kubernetes environments or creating terraform IaC pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience with cloud security principles, including DDoS prevention, vulnerability management, and patching
• 1+ years of exposure with AI-Ops/AI-powered coding and analysis tools
• Knowledge of cloud networking, cloud security, centralized logging and monitoring tools. Solid foundation in Linux/Windows operating systems and tools
