We are looking for a sharp, hands-on Senior SEO Strategist to join our growing digital team at Tonic Worldwide. You will own and drive SEO campaigns end-to-end for a portfolio of clients, from strategy through execution and reporting. The right person is a practitioner first: someone who stays ahead of how search is evolving across traditional engines, AI-generated answers, and emerging discovery surfaces.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and execute full-funnel organic search strategies across clients in different categories, covering traditional SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and LLM visibility.
• Own keyword research, topic clustering, and search intent mapping, including query types that surface in AI Overviews, featured snippets, and zero-click results.
• Conduct competitor and SERP landscape analysis to identify whitespace and prioritize effort across content, technical, and authority signals.
• Build and manage link acquisition strategies aligned with brand and topical authority goals.

Technical SEO

• Perform comprehensive technical audits covering crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, site architecture, schema markup, and mobile/page experience signals.
• Identify and resolve issues that affect how both traditional crawlers and AI systems interpret and surface content, including structured data gaps, thin content, and entity disambiguation.
• Maintain expertise in how LLMs index, train on, and cite web content, and apply that to on-page and entity optimization recommendations.

AEO / GEO / LLM Search

• Optimize content and site structure to appear in AI-generated answers (Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, ChatGPT, Bing Copilot, etc.).
• Apply GEO best practices: structuring content for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, ensuring factual clarity, citation worthiness, and entity consistency across the web.
• Track brand and client mentions across LLM outputs and AI search surfaces; identify gaps and build strategies to improve representation.
• Stay current on how major LLMs and AI search platforms evolve their content sourcing and ranking signals.

Reporting & Insights

• Build and maintain performance dashboards using GA4, Google Search Console, Semrush, and Ahrefs.
• Report on a full metrics stack: organic traffic, rankings, share of AI-cited results, featured snippet capture, Core Web Vitals, and conversion contribution.
• Translate data into clear, client-facing narratives. Not just numbers, but so-what and what-next.
• Work closely with content, paid, and web teams to ensure SEO strategy is embedded across deliverables, not bolted on.
• Stay ahead of algorithm updates (Google core updates, AI Overview changes, LLM training cycles) and translate implications into client action.

What We’re Looking For

• 4-7 years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally within a digital agency environment managing multiple clients simultaneously.
• Demonstrable experience running campaigns that generated measurable organic growth, not just audits and recommendations.
• Strong technical SEO fundamentals: architecture, crawl budget, structured data, log file analysis, Core Web Vitals.
• Working knowledge of AEO and GEO principles, including how to optimize for AI Overviews, featured snippets, and LLM citation surfaces.
• Proficiency across the standard toolset: GA4, Google Search Console, Semrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog.
• Familiarity with how LLMs source, rank, and cite web content across Perplexity, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Bing Copilot.
• Ability to write clear, insightful client-facing reports without leaning on jargon.
• Comfortable managing multiple live campaigns in parallel with strong prioritization instincts.
• No degree requirement. A track record of results matters more.
