Job summary

Cornerstone OnDemand is seeking a Senior SDET to join the Hyderabad-based Testing Team. You will lead quality initiatives in an agile environment, shape testing strategies, design automated tests, and drive reliable software releases for the CSOD Cloud Platform.

You will collaborate with product owners, engineers, and support teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage, implement test automation across unit, integration, and UI layers, and contribute to CI/CD improvements in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3-6 years of experience in software quality assurance, including testing of analytical systems.
• 2+ years of experience in building test automation using tools like Selenium, Robotium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium.
• Strong programming skills in Java and Python.
• Proficient in SQL query writing (MySQL, Oracle).
• Familiarity with TestNG, JUnit, Jenkins, and TeamCity.

Responsibilities

About The Role

The Senior SDET role is vital to ensuring the quality and reliability of our CSOD Cloud Platform. You'll work in an agile software development environment, gaining a deep technical and functional understanding of our product architecture. Your contributions will directly impact our ongoing feature and enhancement development efforts.

In this role you will…

• Quality Assurance Leadership: Work within an agile development environment to ensure the quality of the CSOD Cloud Platform's architecture.
• Product Expertise: Gain a comprehensive understanding of our product architecture and play a key role in feature and enhancement development.
• Manual Testing: Write and execute test cases/plans, log defects, verify fixes, and ensure thorough coverage.
• Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with product owners to analyze requirements, raise questions, and ensure clarity.
• Test Automation: Develop automated tests at the unit, integration, and UI layers using tools like TestNG, Selenium, Cypress, and others.
• Scrum Collaboration: Manage the test case inventory for your scrum team and coordinate with QA team members.
• Technical Guidance: Provide technical support and guidance to QA and Product Support teams when necessary.
• Defect Analysis: Analyze defects and test results to identify root causes and improve software quality.
• Participate in the enhancement of our Test Automation and Continuous Integration practices Continuous Improvement.
• SQL Expertise: Write SQL queries for data setup and test verification, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
• Communication: Provide timely updates on critical issues and overall status to the scrum team and other stakeholders.

You have what it takes if you have…

• BE/B.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3-6 years of experience in software quality assurance, including testing of analytical systems.
• 2+ years of experience in building test automation using tools like Selenium,Robotium, Cypress, Playwrite, or Appium.
• Technical Skills:
• Extensive experience with various types of testing: static/dynamic, black/white/grey box, automated regression, build verification, and volume testing.
• Strong analytical skills with a creative and detail-oriented approach.
• Proficient in SQL query writing (MySQL, Oracle).
• Strong programming skills in Java and Python.
• Familiarity with TestNG, JUnit, Jenkins, and TeamCity.
• Tools: Experience with test management tools such as Jira, TestLink, TestRail, and Bugzilla.
• Operating Systems: Proficient with Unix/Linux systems.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

• Experience with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and performance testing.
