Job summary

ALSTEF GROUP is seeking a Senior SCADA Engineer in Pune, India, for hands-on SCADA development, configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting across airport baggage handling and intralogistics systems.

You will design SCADA/HMI solutions, integrate with PLCs and databases, and support project teams from development through commissioning. Strong ICONICS and WinCC experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation or related Engineering discipline.
• 5-10 years of experience in automation/SCADA or related fields.
• Experience in SCADA development, configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

About The Role

We are looking for a Senior SCADA Engineer with strong hands-on experience in SCADA development, configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting, preferably with ICONICS and WinCC. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing SCADA/HMI solutions for Airport Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), material handling and automated intralogistics systems. The role involves close collaboration with PLC, controls, software and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure and maintain SCADA/HMI applications for automation and material handling systems.


• Develop and configure SCADA applications using ICONICS and Siemens WinCC.


• Integrate SCADA systems with PLC/automation systems, databases and other control-system components.


• Configure alarms, events, trends, graphics, tags, recipes, reports and user management.


• Develop operator-friendly SCADA screens and graphical interfaces.


• Perform SCADA system testing, FAT, SAT, commissioning and site troubleshooting.


• Interface with PLCs and control systems for real-time monitoring and control.


• Troubleshoot communication issues between SCADA, PLCs, servers, networks and field devices.


• Work with protocols/interfaces such as OPC/OPC UA, TCP/IP and industrial communication protocols.


• Support SCADA server/client architecture, redundancy and system configuration.


• Analyse system issues and provide effective technical solutions during commissioning and operation.


• Coordinate with PLC/Controls, Electrical, Software and Project teams to ensure smooth system integration.


• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SCADA standards and project-related documents.


• Support remote and on-site commissioning activities whenever required.


• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support knowledge sharing within the team.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in SCADA development and configuration.


• Experience with ICONICS SCADA is highly preferred.


• Experience with Siemens WinCC is required/preferred.


• Good understanding of PLC-SCADA communication and integration.


• Experience in SCADA graphics, alarms, trends, tags and database integration.


• Knowledge of OPC / OPC UA and industrial communication.


• Good understanding of industrial automation systems and control architecture.


• Experience in FAT, SAT, commissioning and troubleshooting.


• Ability to analyse and resolve SCADA and communication-related issues independently.
