Job summary

Ccube in Indore, MP, seeks a Sr. Ruby on Rails Production Support Engineer to debug and resolve issues across Rails monoliths, databases, and integrations. You will work across application, hosting layers and third-party services to ensure reliability.

The role emphasizes hands-on debugging, RCA, and collaboration with engineering, product, QA, and support teams. Remote/hybrid with PST hours is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in technical support, production support, or similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails and debugging web apps.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL, including query analysis.
• Experience with Heroku or similar cloud hosting platforms.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, and webhooks.
• Experience with AWS S3 and cloud services.
• Familiarity with Stripe APIs, payments, and webhooks is desirable.
• Proficient in Git, background jobs, caching, Linux/Unix, and app performance troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with independent issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complex production issues across Rails, PostgreSQL, background jobs, APIs, and third-party integrations using logs and debugging tools.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and collaborate with Engineering, Product, QA, and Support teams.
• Diagnose PostgreSQL issues including slow queries, locks, indexing, and data inconsistencies.
• Troubleshoot REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, data sync, and third-party integrations (Stripe, AWS S3).
• Support apps hosted on Heroku, including dynos, deployments, and configuration variables.
• Investigate Stripe payment, subscription, refunds, and webhook discrepancies; align data with app.
• Analyze customer-reported issues, reproduce, and implement fixes or workarounds.
• Make small-to-medium code fixes, SQL tweaks, scripts, or production changes as needed.
• Monitor recurring issues and suggest improvements for stability and monitoring.

Job Summary

We are looking for aSenior Product Technical Support Engineerwith strong hands-on debugging and problem-solving skills to support and troubleshoot a large-scaleRuby on Rails monolithic application. You will work across the application, database, integrations, and hosting layers to diagnose complex production issues and ensure a reliable customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complexproduction issuesacross Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, background jobs, APIs, and third-party integrations using logs, stack traces, database queries, and debugging tools.


• Performroot cause analysis (RCA)for production incidents and work closely with Engineering, Product, QA, and Customer Support teams to drive issues to resolution.


• DiagnosePostgreSQLissues including slow queries, data inconsistencies, database locks/deadlocks, connection issues, indexing, and data-related problems.


• TroubleshootREST APIs, webhooks, authentication, data synchronization, and third-party integrations, includingStripe and AWS S3.


• Support and troubleshoot applications hosted onHeroku, including dynos, workers, deployments, configuration/environment variables, logs, build failures, and application performance.


• InvestigateStripe payment, subscription, refund, and webhook-related issues, including discrepancies between Stripe and application data.


• Analyze customer-reported issues, trace problems through the application and database layers, reproduce issues, and provide appropriate fixes or workarounds.


• Make small-to-mediumcode fixes, SQL queries, scripts, configuration changes, and production fixeswhere required.


• Monitor recurring production issues and proactively identify opportunities to improveapplication stability, performance, monitoring, and support processes.


• Create and maintaintechnical documentation, troubleshooting guides, runbooks, and RCA reports.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of experiencein technical support, application support, production support, or a similar engineering role.


• Strong hands-on experience withRuby/Ruby on Railsand debugging web applications.


• Strong knowledge ofPostgreSQL and SQL, including query analysis and troubleshooting.


• Experience withHerokuor similar cloud application hosting platforms.


• Good understanding ofREST APIs, HTTP, JSON, webhooks, and third-party integrations.


• Experience working withAWS S3and cloud-based services.
