Job summary

Drlogy in Lucknow invites a Senior Resident in Surgical Oncology to join our multidisciplinary cancer care team. You will assist consultants in OPD, IPD, emergency and operative settings, take histories, perform exams, and document findings under supervision.

You will support diagnosis and treatment planning, participate in pre-operative assessment, intraoperative support, ward rounds, post-operative care, and coordinate with OT, ICU, nursing, pathology, radiology and tumor board activities,

Qualifications

• Surgical knowledge and oncology exposure.

Responsibilities

• Assist consultants in OPD, IPD, emergency and surgical oncology care.

• Review investigations and imaging reports.
• Maintain case records and discharge summaries.
• Support wound care, drain monitoring, pain management.
• Counsel patients and attendants on treatment flow and follow-up.
• Follow infection control and surgical safety protocols.
• Participate in tumor board preparation and audits.
• Deliver ethical, patient-centered surgical oncology care.

Senior Resident - Surgical Oncology is responsible for supporting surgical oncology consultants in cancer patient assessment, pre-operative evaluation, operative assistance, post-operative care, ward rounds, emergency management, and clinical documentation. The requirements include surgical knowledge, oncology exposure, patient counselling ability, teamwork, and strong coordination with OT, ICU, nursing, pathology, radiology, and multidisciplinary cancer care teams.

Role & Responsibilities

• Assist consultants in OPD, IPD, emergency, and surgical oncology patient care.
• Take patient history, perform clinical examination, and document findings accurately.
• Support diagnosis and treatment planning for surgical oncology cases under consultant guidance.
• Assist in pre-operative assessment, consent preparation, and surgical readiness.
• Participate in cancer surgery assistance and intraoperative support as assigned.
• Monitor post-operative patients and identify complications or clinical deterioration early.
• Conduct ward rounds and update consultants regarding patient progress.
• Coordinate with OT, ICU, anaesthesia, nursing, pathology, radiology, and oncology teams.
• Review investigation reports, imaging findings, biopsy reports, and treatment updates.
• Maintain accurate case sheets, progress notes, prescriptions, discharge summaries, and procedure records.
• Support wound care, drain monitoring, pain management, and post-surgical recovery planning.
• Counsel patients and attendants regarding treatment flow, investigations, surgery preparation, and follow-up.
• Follow infection control, surgical safety, patient safety, and hospital clinical protocols.
• Participate in case discussions, tumor board preparation, audits, and academic activities when required.
• Deliver ethical, responsible, and patient-centered surgical oncology care.
