Job summary

Max Super Speciality Hospital, Dwarka seeks a Senior Resident in General Surgery to provide clinical and surgical care under Consultants and departmental leadership. You will assess patients, manage peri-operative care, assist in procedures and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires MBBS with MS/DNB in General Surgery and valid registration. Relevant experience in general surgery and handling emergency cases is preferred, with active participation in rounds and teaching

Qualifications

• MBBS with MS/DNB in General Surgery is required.
• Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council.
• Experience in general surgery and emergency/ elective procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of surgical patients.
• Assist Consultants in elective and emergency surgical procedures.
• Independently perform minor surgical procedures as per competence.
• Pre-operative assessment and ensure patients are prepared for surgery.
• Post-operative monitoring and management, including complications.
• Attend to surgical emergencies and provide timely intervention under supervision.
• Daily rounds and follow-up of admitted patients.
• Coordinate patient care with nursing, ICU, anaesthesia and other departments.
• Maintain patient records and discharge summaries.
• Participate in emergency duties, on-call rosters and teaching sessions.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and patient safety.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and competentSenior Resident – General Surgery to provide clinical and surgical care to patients under the supervision of Consultants and the Department leadership. The role involves patient assessment, peri-operative management, assisting in surgical procedures, emergency care and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of surgical patients.
• Assist Consultants inelective and emergency surgical procedures.
• Independently perform appropriate minor surgical procedures as per competence and departmental requirements.
• Conduct pre-operative assessment and ensure patients are adequately prepared for surgery.
• Provide post-operative monitoring and management, including identification of complications.
• Attend to surgical emergencies and provide timely intervention under Consultant guidance.
• Conduct daily rounds and ensure appropriate follow-up of admitted patients.
• Manage and coordinate patient care with nursing, ICU, anaesthesia and other clinical departments.
• Perform and assist with procedures such as suturing, wound care, incision and drainage, catheterisation and other procedures as per clinical requirements.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records, clinical notes and discharge summaries.
• Participate in emergency duties, on-call services and departmental rosters.
• Participate in academic activities, clinical meetings and teaching sessions.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and maintain high standards of patient safety and clinical care.

Experience
