Job summary

KPMG Global Services, part of KPMG, is seeking a Senior - Reporting and Cost Accounting in Bengaluru. You will handle financial reporting, cost accounting, and FP&A activities within the Managed Services team, supporting dashboards, budgeting, and audits.

Qualifications

• CA/CA Inter/CMA Inter or MBA (Finance) qualification required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting concepts and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS reports including P&L and cost center analyses.
• Support management dashboards and performance metrics for leadership.
• Conduct actual vs budget vs forecast analysis and identify drivers.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of reports; support automation of processes.
• Perform detailed cost accounting activities and analyze fixed/variable costs.
• Assist in margin and profitability analysis at product/customer/project levels.
• Support budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning.
• Maintain controls over cost data and support internal and statutory audits.

Responsibilities

Financial & Management Reporting

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS reports, including P&L, cost center, and variance reports.
• Support preparation of management dashboards and performance metrics for leadership review.
• Perform actual vs budget vs forecast analysis and highlight key drivers and risks.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reports in line with reporting calendars.
• Support automation and standardization of reporting processes to improve efficiency.

Cost Accounting & Analysis

• Perform detailed cost accounting activities, including product/service costing, standard costing, and cost allocations.
• Analyze fixed and variable costs, and track cost center performance.
• Conduct cost variance analysis (labor, material, overhead) and provide root-cause insights.
• Support margin and profitability analysis at product, customer, or project level.
• Assist in identifying cost optimization opportunities and tracking savings initiatives.

Budgeting & Forecasting Support

• Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning activities.
• Consolidate cost inputs from multiple stakeholders and ensure data accuracy.
• Track budget utilization and flag potential overruns or inefficiencies.

Controls, Compliance & Data Integrity

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (Ind AS / IFRS) and internal policies.
• Support internal audits, statutory audits, and cost audits by providing data and analysis.
• Maintain strong controls over cost data, master data, and reporting assumptions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance

Experience

• 5-8 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, cost accounting, or FP&A
• Experience in manufacturing, services, IT/ITES, or project-based environments preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of cost accounting concepts and financial reporting
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / NetSuite / Dynamics preferred)
• Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query; macros a plus)
• Exposure to Power BI / Tableau or similar reporting tools is an advantage
