Job summary

Rinova Labs Llp invites an experienced Quality Officer to independently lead QA, QC and Microbiology in our nutraceutical/beverage manufacturing facility. You will manage documentation, SOPs, batch records, and quality systems, ensure GMP and FSSAI compliance, handle deviations and audits, and drive continuous improvement across all three functions.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Quality Officer who can independently lead and manage the QA, QC, and Microbiology departments in a nutraceutical or beverage manufacturing facility. The candidate must have strong hands-on technical experience in all three functions, along with team-handling, leadership, and decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance (QA)

• Manage quality documentation, SOPs, batch records, and quality management systems.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, hygiene standards, and applicable FSSAI requirements.
• Handle deviations, CAPA, change control, internal audits, and customer complaints.
• Monitor manufacturing processes and ensure compliance with quality standards.

2. Quality Control (QC)

• Perform and supervise testing of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Review analytical reports and ensure products meet approved specifications.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results and implement corrective actions.

3. Microbiology

• Perform and supervise microbiological testing of raw materials, water, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Monitor microbial limits, environmental hygiene, and contamination control.
• Manage microbiology laboratory activities, media preparation, and laboratory documentation.
• Investigate microbiological failures and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

4. Team Handling & Department Management

• Lead and supervise the QA, QC, and Microbiology teams.
• Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
• Independently manage day-to-day operations across all three departments.
• Take quality-related decisions within assigned authority and escape critical issues when required.
• Coordinate with Production and other departments to resolve quality issues.
• Ensure timely completion of testing, documentation, and quality activities.

Mandatory Requirements

• B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• 45 years of relevant experience in the nutraceutical, beverage, food, or related manufacturing industry.
• Strong hands-on experience in all three departments: QA, QC, and Microbiology.
• Proven team-handling and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to independently manage all three quality functions.
• Knowledge of GMP, FSSAI, SOPs, CAPA, audits, and laboratory testing.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience in nutraceutical and/or beverage manufacturing.
• Ability to balance practical laboratory work with quality management responsibilities.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
