Job summary

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on functional or manual testing experience.
• Capital-markets or trading applications testing experience.
• Strong test planning, design, estimation, regression and defect management.
• REST and SOAP API testing using Postman or curl.
• Ability to independently write SQL queries (SELECT, WHERE, JOIN, GROUP BY).
• Experience in Agile or Scrum environments and sprint ceremonies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Senior associate, Quality Engineering - Level 1

Publicis Sapient is looking for a Senior associate in quality engineering with strong functional and manual testing experience to help deliver high-quality technology solutions for our clients. You will apply your knowledge of capital markets, testing practices, APIs, and databases to validate complex trading applications across the development lifecycle. You will collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and other quality engineers to identify risks, resolve defects, and improve product quality. Your testing expertise and problem-solving skills will contribute to reliable solutions that create meaningful value for our clients.

Your Impact

• Plan and execute functional, manual, regression, and progression testing to ensure the quality and reliability of complex applications.
• Validate capital-markets workflows across the trading lifecycle, including order creation, execution, settlement, and related lifecycle events.
• Design comprehensive test scenarios covering Equities and Fixed Income instruments, including Bonds, Bond Forwards, Futures, and Swaps.
• Test REST and SOAP APIs by validating contracts, requests, responses, business fields, and error scenarios using tools such as Postman or curl.
• Write and execute SQL queries independently to validate application and test data across relevant database tables.
• Manage defects through their complete lifecycle, participate in defect triage, analyse application logs, and support root-cause investigation.
• Collaborate with developers, traders, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment to complete testing activities and support successful releases.

Qualifications

Your Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of hands-on functional or manual testing experience, preferably involving capital-markets or trading applications.
• Practical knowledge of the capital-markets trading lifecycle and experience testing Equities and Fixed Income products.
• Strong understanding of test planning, test-case design, estimation, regression testing, defect management, and test metrics.
• Working knowledge of REST and SOAP API testing, including request and response validation using Postman, curl, or similar tools.
• Ability to independently write SQL queries using SELECT, WHERE, JOIN, and GROUP BY.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams and participating in relevant sprint ceremonies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work independently and drive assigned activities to completion.

• Experience working with front-office or middle-office applications within an Asset Management organization.
• Exposure to test automation using Selenium with Java or Robot Framework with Python.
• Python scripting experience for test utilities, data validation, or simple automation.
