Job summary

ValueMomentum is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead testing of Earnix and OneShield rating solutions for P&C insurance. You will design test plans, execute manual and automated tests, and ensure coverage of rate calculations and business rules.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in software testing with P&C insurance, hands-on Earnix QA, OneShield, Jira and Xray experience, and basic Python knowledge. Hyderabad-based onsite role.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in software testing with strong experience in P&C insurance applications.
• Hands-on experience in Earnix QA and Rating.
• Experience with OneShield or similar P&C insurance rating applications.
• Strong understanding of P&C insurance concepts, including rate calculation methodologies, policy issuance, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in testing rate tables, rating algorithms, premium calculations, and complex business rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of comprehensive test plans, strategies, and methodologies for testing rate calculation functionalities using Earnix and OneShield.
• Define testing scope, objectives, timelines, and methodologies in alignment with project requirements and business goals.
• Perform manual and automated testing of rate calculation functionalities, including rate tables, rating algorithms, premium calculations, and business rules.
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks to streamline testing efforts.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, and Project Managers to understand rate calculation requirements, rate manuals, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify test scenarios and ensure comprehensive test coverage for rating and premium calculation logic.
• Validate complex P&C insurance business rules and workflows across rating applications.
• Identify gaps and clarify requirements to ensure accurate testing coverage and quality outcomes.
• Utilize Jira and Xray for test planning, execution, defect tracking, and test management activities.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in an Agile and Onsite-Offshore delivery environment.
• Continuously improve testing processes, strategies, and methodologies to enhance overall quality and efficiency.

About The Job

As an Earnix – Rating QA professional, you will be responsible for leading and executing comprehensive testing activities for rate calculation functionalities within P&C insurance software applications. You will work on Earnix and OneShield rating solutions, validating rate tables, rating algorithms, premium calculations, and complex business rules.

You will collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, and other stakeholders to understand rating requirements, rate manuals, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements, and translate them into effective test scenarios and comprehensive test coverage.

The ideal candidate should have strong P&C insurance domain knowledge, hands‑on experience in manual and automated testing, and a good understanding of rating functionalities across Personal and Commercial Lines.

• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Strong knowledge of Jira and Xray for test management and defect tracking.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.
• Basic knowledge of Python.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in an Onsite-Offshore delivery model.
