Job summary

Dentsu Aegis Network Ltd. in Pune is seeking a Lead QA to ensure software meets client requirements and quality standards within release cycles. You will lead QA initiatives, optimize test approaches, and mentor a small team in DWH/DB testing, SQL, and cloud-based testing.

The role requires experience with ETL testing, Azure, JIRA, and strong communication. Shift timing aligns with client projects; permanent, full-time position in Pune.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master Degree in IT or related field
• Azure Data Engineer certification desirable
• Experience with DWH and cloud ETL testing

Responsibilities

• Define scope and objectives of QA testing at all levels
• Write test plans, test cases, SQL scripts and expected results
• Participate in test planning, identify requirements, scope and estimates
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage (positive, negative, edge)
• Log defects with priority, track to closure and root-cause analysis
• Work on DWH/Database testing
• Perform functional, regression, load, system and UAT testing
• Validate fixes and ensure test cycles are completed
• Investigate remediation strategies for data quality issues
• Communicate test status to project teams and clients
• Develop best practices and standards for multi-project QA
• Mentor a team of 2-3 QA associates

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to ensure the developed software meets the client requirements and the business' quality standards within the project release cycle and established processes. To lead QA technical initiatives in order to optimize the test approach and tools.

Required Skills

• 1.Experience & Knowledge in DWH and Database Testing
• 2. SQL and ETL testing knowledge
• 3. Debug the differences and document the issues identified
• 4. Understand Requirements and translate them into test cases
• 5. Proficiency with SQL language and Data Warehousing principles
• 6. Any ETL Tool knowledge
• 7. Experience on Cloud technologies AZURE prefered.
• 8. Experience on JIRA and Agile
• 9. Good Communication skills

Key responsibilities

• 1. Define scope and objectives of all levels of QA testing.
• 2. Write test plans, design test cases, develop test SQL scripts, test conditions, test procedures and expected results
• 3. Actively participates in test planning by identifying testing requirements, scope and estimates
• 4. Ensures optimal test coverage comprising of positive, negative and exception scenarios
• 5. Logs defects with right priority, tracking them to closure and understanding the root cause for an issue
• 6. Work on DWH / Database testing
• 7. Perform all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• 8. Validate fixes and ensure follow through to all test cycles
• 9. Investigate and recommend remediation strategies for data quality conditions, and process failures
• 10. Communicate test status to internal project team and clients(s)
• 11. Develop and contribute best practices and standards for a solution or across multiple medium/large scale projects/accounts
• 12. Mentoring a team of 2 to 3 QA Associates

Education Qualification

• 1. Bachelor’s or Master Degree or equivalent Degree or related IT field
• 2. Azure certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate.
• 3. Snowflake Associate / Core Shift timing 12 PM to 9 PM and / or 2 PM to 11 PM - IST time zone
