Mimecast India Private Limited is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to join their Identity Platform team. This role involves designing robust automated testing solutions for critical identity workflows and ensuring quality in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in software testing, particularly in identity or platform engineering, with proficiency in Java, REST APIs, and CI/CD processes. The position includes a hybrid work model, promoting collaboration and flexibility.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in software testing, with 2 years in identity or platform engineering.
• Expertise in REST APIs and microservices, with strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Passion for security, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Strong REST API, SDK, and backend microservices experience.
• Identity protocols: OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT.
• Public cloud exposure, especially AWS.
• Experience with external identity providers (Azure AD, Google Workspace).
• Familiar with Postman, RestAssured, Cypress, and Cucumber.

Senior Software Development Engineer in Test – Identity Platform

We are seeking an experienced Senior SDET to join our Identity Platform team. In this role, you will design and implement robust automated testing solutions to validate authentication, authorization, and identity federation capabilities across complex micro‑service architectures serving millions of users.

AI‑First Engineering at Mimecast

• Use AI to accelerate repetitive or analysis‑heavy engineering tasks and improve test design, scenario coverage, code quality, defect diagnosis, and documentation.
• Help teams move from ad‑hoc AI usage to repeatable, trusted engineering workflows.
• Coach engineers on where AI is useful, risky, or requires validation, and measure the impact of AI adoption through productivity, quality, reliability, and speed‑of‑feedback improvements.
• Ensure AI usage supports secure, responsible, and compliant engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to planning, estimation, and refinement of stories, epics, and design changes as part of an Agile Scrum team.
• Design and build scalable automated test frameworks to validate REST APIs, SDKs, and microservices within the Identity Platform.
• Develop test strategies and coverage plans for core identity workflows including login, MFA, SSO, and delegated access.
• Build test harnesses for OAuth2/OpenID Connect authentication flows and third‑party integrations (e.g., Azure AD, Google, Okta).
• Drive test automation within CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast and reliable deployments.
• Perform system integration testing with identity providers and downstream services.
• Analyze test failures, debug root causes, and partner with engineers to resolve issues quickly.
• Collaborate with architects and developers to ensure secure and testable design of services.
• Contribute to test plans, code reviews, risk assessments, and release sign‑offs.
• Mentor junior SDETs and advocate for quality‑first development practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of hands‑on experience in software testing with at least 2 years focused on identity or platform engineering.
• Proficient in Java for automation development.
• Expertise in REST APIs, SDKs, and backend microservices.
• Deep experience with identity protocols: OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT.
• Expertise with public cloud platforms, especially AWS.
• Strong experience integrating and testing with external identity providers (e.g., Azure AD, Google Workspace).
• Experience with tools such as Postman, RestAssured, Cypress, and Cucumber.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Database familiarity (types, schemas, SQL queries, basic operations) and ability to incorporate database‑side validation into automated tests.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis skills.
