Job summary

Guidepoint is hiring for a QA Automation Engineer in Pune. The role focuses on building and maintaining an automated testing framework, writing scripts from scratch, and expanding automation across Playwright, Selenium, Cypress.

You will ensure quality across SDLC with Agile practices, SCRUM methodologies, and performance testing. The position is hybrid in Pune, requiring collaboration with multiple engineering teams, documentation improvements, and ongoing skill development in automation

Qualifications

• 7+ years of QA Automation engineering experience.
• Experience writing test scripts from scratch for manual testing.
• Strong experience in automated testing practices and tools (Playwright/Selenium/Cypress).
• Good understanding of SDLC and testing techniques (Agile, Waterfall, SCRUM).
• Experience with performance/load testing.
• Exposure to ticketing systems (Jira preferred).
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript/Java/Python.
• Knowledge of SOA frameworks and DevOps CI/CD processes.

This is a hybrid position based in Pune.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, build, and maintain a test automation framework.
• Automate test cases and design, develop, and execute reusable and maintainable automated scripts.
• Analyzeissues related to automated and/or load testing, research and propose solutions, and add, modify, or enhance previously recorded automated scripts.
• Analyzetest results and determine root causes of issues. Determine severity and scope of issues to guide prioritization for resolution.
• Provide regular software defect tracking and regression updates and present status and technical reports as required.
• Assist in planning, developing, and delivering training related to automated test tools and frameworks.
• Review, establish, and maintain thorough documentation, templates, and process improvements and communicate technical issues to engineering leadership and business stakeholders.
• Work closely with other engineering team members and departments on technical issues and updates.
• Keep abreast of technology trends and advancements within areas of specialization and incorporate improvements into the overall testing process.

What You Have:

• 7+ years of experience in QA Automation engineering is a must.
• Experience with writing test scripts from scratch for manual testing
• Strong experience in automated testing practices and tools — Playwright/Selenium/Cypress/Any Other AI Tools.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), experience with a variety of testing techniques (Agile, Waterfall, SCRUM)
• Experience with performance/load testing.
• Previous exposure to a ticketing system (Jira preferred).
• Strong hands-on programming skills with any of these programming languages: TypeScript/JavaScript/Java/Python.
• In-depth knowledge of SOA frameworks, processes, strategies, and approaches
• Experienced with CI/CD/Devopsmethodologies/tools and practical implementation of DevOps processes.
• Degree in an engineering discipline (Computer Science/Computer Engineering/information Technology/MIS)
