Job summary

Plan A Technologies is seeking a QA Automation Engineer in India to design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for web apps, APIs, and performance testing. You will leverage AI-assisted tools to boost productivity and quality while working in a hybrid setup (Chennai/Hyderabad).

The role requires 6+ years of automation QA experience with strong proficiency in C#, TypeScript, Playwright, and API validation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript for modern web apps.
• Proficiency in API validation and testing using RESTful services (Postman).
• Experience implementing Page Object Model (POM) and automation design patterns.

• Excellent English communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Job Overview

Plan A Technologies is looking for a highly motivated and skilled QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for web applications, APIs, and performance testing. The ideal candidate should possess strong programming skills, hands-on experience with modern automation tools, and the ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and test effectiveness.

Please note: you must have at least 6+ years of experience as an Automation QA with strong proficiency with AI Tools to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for UI, API, and performance testing.
• Create and execute automated test cases for web, API, and end-to-end business workflows.
• Develop reusable automation components and libraries using industry best practices.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects while collaborating with development teams for resolution.
• Analyze test execution results and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Perform performance and load testing to validate system scalability and reliability.
• Utilize AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT to accelerate test development, code reviews, troubleshooting, and productivity improvements.
• Participate in test strategy planning, estimation, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure automation standards, coding guidelines, and quality processes are followed across projects.

Experience

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience as an Automation QA with strong proficiency in C#.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript and good working knowledge of Python, object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and design patterns.
• Extensive experience with Postman and API validation and testing using RESTful services.
• Understanding of JSON, HTTP methods, authentication mechanisms, and API lifecycle testing.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and automation of modern web applications using Playwright with TypeScript.
• Experience implementing Page Object Model (POM) and other automation design patterns.
• Experience in performance and load testing using K6.
• Ability to create performance test scripts and analyze test results, identifying bottlenecks and providing performance recommendations.
• Practical experience using Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT.
• Ability to leverage AI tools for: test case generation, automation script development, debugging and troubleshooting, test data preparation and productivity optimization.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience with Git-based source control systems.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure.
• Understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC processes.
• Experience in creating test reports and dashboards.
