Job summary

Persistent Systems in Gurugram is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer with extensive Playwright expertise to drive automation strategy across web and enterprise applications. You will design scalable frameworks, implement UI and API tests, and integrate tests into CI/CD to accelerate releases.

The ideal candidate has 12–15 years of QA experience, hands-on Playwright, strong debugging and communication skills, and a track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve quality

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer Playwright to drive quality assurance and automation initiatives across modern web applications and enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable automation frameworks, validating UI and API functionality, improving test coverage, and ensuring high-quality software delivery. This role requires strong expertise in Playwright automation, API testing, quality engineering practices, and continuous integration environments. The candidate will work closely with developers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing applications.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright.
• Create automated test scripts for UI, API, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop reusable test components and automation utilities to improve testing efficiency.
• Perform API testing, validation, and automation using appropriate testing tools and frameworks.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster releases.
• Execute functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and integration testing activities.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, and test strategy discussions.
• Ensure application quality through comprehensive test coverage and automation best practices.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and quality expectations.
• Monitor test execution reports and provide actionable quality metrics to stakeholders.
• Support release validation, production readiness reviews, and defect verification activities.
• Contribute to process improvements, automation innovation, and quality engineering best practices.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 12 to 15 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Test Automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation framework.
• Expertise in UI automation testing and end-to-end test automation.
• Strong experience in API testing, API automation, and service validation.
• Knowledge of test design techniques, automation best practices, and quality engineering processes.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing integration.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and modern software development methodologies.
• Experience using defect management and test management tools.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Understanding of performance, security, and non-functional testing concepts.
• Knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol) and AI-assisted testing frameworks is an advantage.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively within geographically distributed and cross-functional teams.
