Job summary

CES is hiring a developer / senior developer in the data technologies team. You will build and support Python-based applications and modules and mentor junior team members through code and design reviews.

Education: B.Tech / M.Tech in CS or ECE. Must have 9+ years in Python with SQL Server, NumPy, Pandas, JSON, REST APIs, OO and parallel programming, plus TDD. SCRUM/Agile experience and tools like Jira, Confluence, Git, Django or Flask are desirable.

Qualifications

• Must have 9+ years of Python experience with strong SQL Server know-how.
• Proficient in data structures, NumPy and Pandas.
• Familiar with JSON and REST APIs; strong OO and parallel programming.
• Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and problem solving.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Exposure to SCRUM/Agile methodologies and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

Job Description

As a developer / senior developer in the data technologies team, you will be responsible for working

on building and supporting applications / modules / packages (primarily Python focused but we also

use other languages and technologies as appropriate and suitable for the problem at hand)

independently as well as mentoring junior members in the team (doing code and design reviews).

Education: B. Tech / M. Tech in Computer Science / ECE

Mandatory skills:

• 9+ years of experience with Python, and well versed with RDBMS (SQL Server preferred).
• Should have good experience in Data Structures, Algorithms, NumPy, and Pandas.
• Familiar with JSON and REST APIs
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented and parallel programming techniques
• Experience with test-driven development (TDD)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good team player

Desired skills:

• Prior experience with SCRUM / Agile methodologies
• Exposure to tools like BMC Control-M, Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Confluence, and Git
• Knowledge of Anaconda environment set-up and packaging
• Knowledge of web application frameworks like Django, Flask, Tornado, etc.
• Knowledge of financial domain

Risk Domain knowledge or prior work experience will be an added plus. Having server-side development and work in collaboration with a frontend engineer (UI developer) to build next generation Risk platform and dashboards for portfolio managers.
