  • Provide professional counselling support to students dealing with academic, emotional, behavioural, psychological, and psychosocial concerns.
  • Conduct individual counselling sessions and group counselling interventions as required.
  • Support students in managing stress, anxiety, adjustment issues, interpersonal concerns, motivation, self-esteem, and academic pressure.
  • Identify students requiring specialised clinical intervention and coordinate appropriate referrals wherever necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality, case documentation, counselling records, and follow‑up reports as per professional and institutional norms.
  • Develop preventive and supportive mental health initiatives for students.
  • Conduct awareness sessions, workshops, and wellness programmes on mental health, emotional resilience, stress management, and student well‑being.

About the Role

The role is primarily focused on providing professional counselling and psychological support to students, while also contributing to student mentoring, emotional well-being, academic adjustment, and overall campus wellness under Mononiketan.

The ideal candidate should have strong clinical sensitivity, sound knowledge of counselling practices, ethical maturity, and the ability to work with students in a structured, confidential, and institutionally responsible manner.

Educational Qualifications
  • M.Phil. in Psychology / Clinical Psychology is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
Counselling & Student Support
  • Provide professional counselling support to students dealing with academic, emotional, behavioural, psychological, and psychosocial concerns.

  • Work closely with academic departments, mentors, faculty members, and administrative teams to support student welfare.
  • Assist in developing structured student support mechanisms within the university.
  • Provide professional guidance to faculty or mentors in handling sensitive student concerns, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, empathetic, and supportive campus environment.
  • Support crisis intervention processes as per institutional policies and professional ethical guidelines.
Experience Requirements
  • Prior experience in student counselling, clinical practice, or institutional counselling setups is preferred.
  • Experience in higher education institutions will be an added advantage.
  • Exposure to psychological assessment, academic mentoring, student support systems, and mental health awareness initiatives is desirable.
  • Experience in handling young adults, adolescents, or university‑level students will be preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong counselling, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge of psychological theories, counselling techniques, assessment methods, and ethical practices.
  • Ability to handle sensitive student issues with empathy, discretion, maturity, and professionalism.

  • Effective communication, mentoring, and student engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with academic, administrative, and student‑support teams.
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, patience, and emotional stability.
Mandatory Requirement
