Job summary

ABB’s Quality Division in INOPC, Bangalore, seeks a Planning Engineer to lead planning, scheduling, and project control for large, complex projects. You’ll maintain baselines, analyze schedules and costs, and monitor critical paths, risks, and deviations, ensuring timely corrective actions.

You will mentor junior team members, support improved planning tools and methodologies, and collaborate with project teams to optimize resources in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Planning Engineer or Lead Planning Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Good understanding of project management processes and lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience in Cost Control, Earned Value Management (EVM), and progress tracking.
• PMP certification will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, scheduling, and project control across all project phases.
• Maintain and analyze schedules, costs, revenues, and cash flows; monitor risks and deviations.
• Develop time-phased baselines and resource-loaded plans; track critical paths.
• Issue progress reports, program updates, and productivity data for stakeholders.
• Coach junior Planning and Control Specialists and suggest process improvements.

You will maintain and analyze actual and forecasted schedules, costs, revenues, cash inflows and outflows, as well as project risks, opportunities, and OPQ. You will proactively monitor, report, and manage project deviations, ensuring timely corrective actions.
