Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
• 15+ years of industry experience with proven investment project management across project phases.
• PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and chemical plant design experience is preferred.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and engineering of capital investment projects at the Mahad site.
• Manage and coordinate EPCM contractor and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery within budget.
• Obtain project permits from authorities and guide site construction activities.
• Handover to CSU per Mechanical Completion standard and support commissioning after MC.
• Maintain project status, risks, and lessons learned following Nouryon procedures.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Asset Management team at our Mumbai/Mahad site.

In your future role as Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving major investments at the Mahad site, managing and ensuring that project execution aligns with Nouryon's strategic objectives and project standards. This key position involves leading a multidisciplinary team and EPCM contractor, and engaging with various internal and external stakeholders, both local and international.

Key Accountabilities

The principal objective of the Senior Project Manager is to lead the planning, execution, and engineering of capital investment projects at the Mahad site, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, safely and according to engineering specifications – employing project management best practices and methodologies (NPM) to maximize project value and efficiency.

• Project Execution:
• Lead the project team and engineering firm to develop detailed engineering and equipment/bulk material procurement, combining site experience with previous Peroxide technology good practice.
• Work with the site team to obtain project-related permit applications from the authorities.
• Lead construction package contractor selection and guide the EPCm contractor in organizing site construction.
• Develop related management procedures under the PEP principle to coordinate, monitor and drive project activities, and manage project risks, issues, changes, budget and resources, taking corrective actions when necessary.
• Project Delivery & Closure:
• Hand over the project to the CSU team per the aligned Mechanical Completion (MC) standard, in line with Nouryon requirements and brownfield project characteristics.
• Support Commissioning and Start-up (CSU) after project MC as needed.
• Evaluate and close the project, and identify and analyze lessons learned according to NPM procedure.
• Relations Management:
• Build, maintain and utilize a network of internal and external stakeholders/authorities/partners, and represent the project within the organization.
• Project Information:
• Manage and share project status information with related stakeholders, following PEP.
• People Management:
• Manage the project team using management methods and techniques to ensure the team works smoothly.
• Stakeholder Management:
• Manage relations with multiple stakeholders including the technical group, asset management team, marketing group, site team, NPR, external engineering firm, authorities and others.

We believe you are…

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years' industry experience with a proven track record in investment project management across the various project phases, preferably in the chemical sector; 20 years or above, including project management experience for brownfield projects, is preferred.
• Proficient in project management software and tools such as Microsoft Project, preferably with chemical plant design experience.
• Rich experience and knowledge in engineering design and process safety requirements and regulations is an advantage.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills; experience with emergency management is of added value.
• PMP or equivalent certification in project management is highly desirable.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required.
