Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Chennai seeks an experienced SCADA/HMI engineer to drive development for HV substations and HVDC projects.

You will design, implement, and test Micro SCADA and Zenon solutions, and coordinate with suppliers to meet Hitachi standards. The role requires 13+ years in Substation projects, strong network and cybersecurity awareness, English fluency, and the ability to lead automation initiatives and mentor teammates on complex deployments.

Qualifications

• 13+ years of project experience in Substation SCADA/HMI.

Job description

How you'll make an impact:

HMI / SCADA Development, Database creation, Gateway server configuration, technical co-ordination, make sure the SCADA system works with customer requirements along with Hitachi standards.

Together with the team you will focus on continuous improving HVDCs Overall HMI. SCADA / HMI application development using Micro SCADA / Zenon SCADA software.

Design & develop a secured network overall architecture for SCADA / HMI system for AC Substation and HVDC projects. Technical co-ordinations with sub suppliers and multiple stakeholders in different locations.

IT infrastructure hands on experience on Routers, Firewalls, Switches, Servers, and workstations with basic networking skills.

Template / Faceplate/ Popup creations in Micro SCADA / Zenon SCADA. Discuss with other departments / stakeholders to prepare the Division of works.

Involved in FAT / SAT activities with along with sub suppliers.

Technical support at site during commissioning phase of the project.

You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

You hold a bachelor/ Master degree in ECE / EEE// E&I with a minimum Project work experience of 13+ years in Subs Station.

Should have experience in collaborating with multiple stakeholder’s tom finalize the solution.

Must have knowledge and skills in Micro SCADA, Zenon (Copa Data), MS Visio. Knowledge and experience in MS Office: Word, Excel.

SCADA / HMI certifications, networking certifications, CCNA, CCNP, Cyber Security, good knowledge of process Automation / Power grid Automation are preferred.

Evaluate and strengthen the security of any connections to the DCS / SCADA / HMI network.

Able to lead the automation projects and guide / mentor within the team for the business requirements.

Proficiency and fluency in English is required since you will be part of an international setting.
