POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the success of New Product Development projects throughout the full project life cycle, acting as the key technical and operational liaison between India and its global counterparts. The role manages multiple projects simultaneously, provides daily support to development teams across design, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain, and finance, and manages timelines while clearly communicating status to stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Direct and execute New Product Development projects across the full life cycle, managing multiple projects simultaneously to meet launch goals.
• Kick off project management processes and establish project budgets (engineering hours, tooling, and piece cost) with Engineering and Portfolio Managers.
• Ensure cost targets, quality requirements, and timelines are met with the lowest possible manpower and cost effort.

Stakeholder & Customer Coordination

• Coordinate with international teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project integration and execution across regions.
• Align with Key Account Managers in customer-focused meetings, supporting SOWs, warranty conditions, tooling quotes, and feasibility checks.
• Ensure customer requirements, both commercial and technical, are translated and fed back into the organisation.

Reporting & Governance

• Develop and maintain Workfront and the open project list as a visible communication and management tool.
• Generate weekly engineering reports, run weekly review meetings, and present regular project updates to stakeholders.

Cross-Functional & Supply Chain Liaison

• Liaise with New Product Development and Supply Chain Management, maintaining communication with subcontractors and tool makers.
• Maintain timing and tracking for cost, timing, and quality measurables, and drive Lessons Learnt and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• 8+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, including 4+ years directly supporting customers on global projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Willingness to work flexible hours across time zones and to travel domestically to suppliers as required.
• Proficiency in project management software.
• Experience reviewing drawings for technical feasibility and compliance to project scope.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection moulding, die casting, sheet metal, stamping, and machining.
• PMP certification and experience with SAP, Teamcenter, or similar systems.
