Job description

Scopely is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Star Trek Fleet Command team in Bangalore on a hybrid basis.

Star Trek Fleet Command's ongoing success goes from strength to strength. Our in-house-developed 4X MMO was launched in 2018 and continues to evolve, consistently ranking among the top 10 in gross revenue for Massive Multiplayer Strategy games on the market.

At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play, every day – whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing, and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.

What You Will Do
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Collaborate closely with one of our feature teams to develop and refine the development team roadmap, steering vision, and strategy. Oversee the feature lifecycle – from specification writing to launching core features. Manage product requirements and feature quality from inception to delivery, including release analysis and reporting.
  • Live Operations Initiatives: Implement player-focused improvements, in‑game events, sales and campaigns.
  • Player's Advocate: Prioritize player experience in every decision, aligning development with the target audience's needs and desires. Understand and address player issues to enhance the game. Identify and implement key initiatives to improve customer and player experiences.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide leadership in daily tasks and larger projects, ensuring quality and timely execution.
  • Data Analysis and Insights: Manage and analyze game and market metrics, synthesizing data to derive actionable insights and recommendations. Demonstrate sound product judgment to formulate strategies and set clear, measurable objectives for achieving business goals.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a vocal and proactive member of the team, actively communicate complex ideas clearly and maintain visibility with upper management and cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment and address potential issues.
What We're Looking For
  • Product Expertise: 3+ years of experience in product management and/or product development in software or live services.
  • Analytical Thinking: Comfortable interpreting data and market trends to guide decision‑making, with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • User experience knowledge: understanding of player behavior and user experience, with the ability to connect player needs to product and company goals.
  • Prioritization Skills: Skilled in managing backlogs, setting goals, and choosing the right tools and techniques to achieve high‑quality results.
  • Influential Leadership: Strong collaborator with a track record of mentoring and empowering others, even without direct authority.
Bonus Points
  • Experience in product management and/or product development in software or live services.
  • Live Operation Experience: previous working experience owning live operations on a major F2P title.
  • Genre Experience: Previous experience in either 4X strategy or MMORPG games.
Work Schedule

This role follows a non‑standard working schedule to support close collaboration with a U.S.-based team. The position requires a regular daily overlap from 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM IST to align with the Los Angeles team (this overlap is a fixed requirement). During the initial ramp‑up period, new hires are also expected to be available for collaboration during daytime hours, approximately between 10:30 AM and 4:30 PM IST, with some flexibility. Candidates should be comfortable working a split schedule during the ramp‑up phase, with at least two hours of guaranteed overlap with the U.S. team.
