We are looking for a sharp,execution-driven Product Manager to own Back-Office Operations Automation andRisk Management Systems for our stock broking business. You will be the singlepoint of product ownership for BOD/EOD processes, RMS automation, surveillance,margin monitoring, alerting, and regulatory compliance workflows. Working atthe intersection of Operations, Technology, Risk, and Compliance, you willeliminate manual dependencies, reduce operational risk, and build a scalable,resilient back-office infrastructure.
This role demands deepfamiliarity with stock broking back-office operations, hands-on exposure toback office and front office software, a strong bias for automation, and theability to translate complex operational and regulatory requirements into clean,well-scoped product specifications.
Responsibilities
- BOD / EOD Process Automation
- Own end-to-endproduct scope for Beginning-of-Day (BOD) and End-of-Day (EOD) automation acrossall segments — Equity, Derivatives, Commodity, and Currency.
- Drive automationof holding uploads, limit setting, position carryforward, and reconciliationprocesses to reduce manual intervention.
- Define SLAs andalerting thresholds for BOD readiness checks; build dashboards for operationsteams to track daily open/close status.
- Identify andeliminate single points of failure in daily operational workflows.
- RMS Automation, Monitoring & Alerting
- Own the product roadmap for RMS (Risk ManagementSystem) automation, covering:
- Client-level andscrip-level limit configuration and real-time enforcement
- Intraday and baselimit supervision across all segments
- MTM(Mark-to-Market) alert violation monitoring, escalation workflows, and autosquare-off triggers
- Timer-basedsquare-off automation for intraday positions
- RMS blocks fordebit, far-month contracts, and illiquid scrips
- Build and improvereal-time monitoring dashboards for RMS events with configurable alerting forRisk Officers, Dealers, and HODs.
- Collaborate withthe trading platform and tech teams to automate rule-based interventions thatcurrently require manual RMS action.
- Reduce turnaroundtime for critical RMS actions (limit activation/deactivation, terminalmanagement) through workflow automation.
- Define productcapabilities for script-wise and client-wise position surveillance, includingconcentration risk and simulated trade detection.
- Own workflows forASM (Additional Surveillance Margin) tracking and automated reporting to riskteams and HODs.
- Build alertingand blocking mechanisms for GSM (Graded Surveillance Measure) and illiquidscrips within trading systems, ensuring timely enforcement.
- Drive productrequirements for tender period contract tracking and staggered deliverymechanism workflows across all segments.
- Margin Management & Reporting
- Own daily marginreporting automation for all segments — Equity, F&O, Commodity, andCurrency.
- Build enhancedsupervisor reporting covering client funds, collateral, and security balances(daily and weekly views).
- Drive productimprovements for SEBI peak margin compliance workflows, upfront margincollection, and automated breach alerts for margin shortfalls.
- Streamline clientfund utilisation reporting and ensure audit-readiness for margin-relatedregulatory queries.
- Compliance & Regulatory Automation
- Own product scopefor regulatory automation, including:
- Quarterly settlement of accounts
- Dormant and inactive account activation /deactivation processes
- CTCL empanelment workflows
- Exchange and depository complianceimplementations (NSE, BSE, MCX, CDSL, NSDL)
- Collaborate withCompliance and Operations to identify manual compliance workflows and convertthem into automated, audit-ready processes.
- Ensure timelyimplementation of SEBI circulars and exchange-driven regulatory changes withinback-office systems.
- Supportregulatory audits with documentation, workflow evidence, and remediationtracking.
- Act as ProductOwner for back-office and RMS modules in vendor-led trading systems (ODIN /OMNESYS / OMNI NEST or equivalent).
- Coordinate withtrading platform vendors for patches, upgrades, and new module deployments; ownrelease planning and communication.
- Lead functionaltesting and UAT for all back-office and RMS-related releases.
- Work withTechnology to evaluate build-vs-buy decisions for automation tooling and proprietary back-office products.
- Business Analysis & Stakeholder Management
- Translateoperational pain points into well-structured BRDs, functional specs, and userstories with clear acceptance criteria and success metrics.
- Act as the bridgebetween Operations, Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Vendors to ensurealigned, on-time delivery.
- Conduct regularreviews with HODs and senior stakeholders on automation progress, risk events,and compliance posture.
- Drive adoption ofnew systems and processes with training, documentation, and stakeholderengagement.
Requirements
- 4-6 years oftotal experience, with at least 2 years in a stock broking or capital marketsfirm in an Operations, RMS, or Product / BA role.
- Prior experiencein one or more of the following is required:
- RMS / Back-OfficeOperations at a broking firm (NSE / BSE / MCX member)
- ProductManagement or Business Analysis for trading platforms or back-office systems
- Trading systemvendor or fintech focused on broking technology
- Strongunderstanding of back-office operations in Indian stock broking- BOD, EOD,settlements, margins, and RMS
- Hands-onexperience with front office & back office platforms
- Working knowledgeof capital market segments: Equity, Derivatives (F&O), Commodity, andCurrency.
- Familiarity withSEBI regulations, exchange circulars (NSE, BSE, MCX), and broker complianceobligations.
- Soundunderstanding of risk concepts: MTM, exposure limits, margin shortfalls,collateral management, ASM/GSM.
- Ability to own aproduct roadmap end-to-end from discovery and prioritisation to delivery andadoption.
- Strongdocumentation skills: BRDs, functional specs, user stories, and process flowdiagrams.
- Experience withUAT planning and execution for back-office or trading platform releases.
- Comfort withagile delivery; experience with JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent tools.
- Excellent writtenand verbal communication; ability to engage technical teams and senior businessstakeholders equally.
- Strong logicalthinking and problem structuring; able to navigate ambiguity and drive clarityindependently.
- Proactive inidentifying operational risks and process gaps before they elevate toincidents.
- Collaborativeteam player who can operate across Operations, Technology, Risk, and Compliancesimultaneously.
