Job summary

Ramboll in India seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead high-rise electrical design, coordinating with project teams and clients. The candidate should have 10–12 years of experience including UK projects, with expertise in HV/LV systems, lighting, fire life safety and ICT/ELV design.

You will join Ramboll’s global team and contribute to sustainable, safe, and innovative building solutions across our offices in India and abroad.

Qualifications

• B.E./M.E. in Electrical Engineering with 10-12 years of professional experience, including UK projects.
• Proven expertise in electrical calculations, problem-solving and technical analysis.
• In-depth knowledge of BIM/digitalization and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical services design on projects, ensuring alignment with corporate, technical and client standards.
• Capable of leading electrical design for small to medium sized projects.
• Mentor junior engineers within the department.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, specialists, clients and project managers.
• Develop design philosophies and contribute from feasibility to detailed design.
• Ensure documentation quality, multi-disciplinary coordination and QA/QC compliance.
• Present designs in meetings and to clients; communicate clearly.
• Demonstrate buildability knowledge and construction technique awareness.
• Understand financial and commercial aspects of project management.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, attention to detail and teamwork.
• Provide technical support for prequalification docs, RFPs, client inquiries.
• Maintain strong written and verbal communication; uphold Health & Safety and training policies.

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and deliver electrical engineering services for Ramboll and its Clients. To succeed in this role, you must have B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical Engineering with 10 to 12 years of professional experience in the relevant field. Our BuildingsDepartment

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be part of our global High-Rise department; Ramboll’s dedicated team of high-rise experts who have designed over 150 tall building projects globally. You would be responsible for coordinating with project managers and engineers for draughting work in the High-Rise department in Mumbai, providing support to the global department which has offices in Copenhagen, Dubai, and Singapore

• Lead the electrical services design on projects, ensuring alignment with corporate, technical and client standards.
• Capability of leading electrical design for small to medium sized projects.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers within the department.
• Collaborate with other design team members, such as architects, structural engineers, specialist consultants, clients, and project managers.
• Develop design philosophies and contribute to all project stages from feasibility to detailed design.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and multi-disciplinary coordination of design documentation, following QA/QC processes.
• Contribute to external project related meetings, demonstrating both project knowledge and technical excellence through design presentations and technical design notes. You will be responsible for presenting your work to clients and design team members where necessary.
• Have a good knowledge of buildability & construction techniques.
• Understand the financial and commercial aspects of project management.
• Exhibit critical thinking, analytical problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork.
• Provide technical support for prequalification documents, RFPs, and client inquiries.
• Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ensure that Health & Safety, quality, and training policies are embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.

• B.E./M.E. in Electrical Engineering with 10-12 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years on UK projects, preferably with demonstrated experience on high-rise building projects.
• Proven expertise in both manual and computer-aided electrical calculations, problem-solving, and technical analysis.
• In-depth knowledge of BIM/digitalization techniques and standards.
• Proficiency in software tools such as Trimble (Amtech), Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD, REVIT, and Navisworks.
• Excellent knowledge of local and international design standards such as BS-EN, CIBSE, ASHRAE and NFPA.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, covering HV/LV power distribution, lightning protection, general & emergency lighting, ELV systems (ICT, fire, security), and fire life safety (FLS) design.
• Experience with sustainable design practices and emerging technologies.
• Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) and participation in CPD events to enhance expertise.
• Personal qualities such as being a self-motivated and a team player.
