Qualifications

Responsibilities

Location: Goa for 6 months (Client Site), then Gurgaon

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Power BI Lead who can understand client business requirements, translate them into effective data analytics solutions, and lead the design and development of interactive dashboards and reports. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Power BI, data modeling, DAX, SQL, and stakeholder management, along with the ability to independently manage client discussions and deliver scalable business intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with clients and business stakeholders to understand business objectives, reporting needs, and analytical requirements.
• Conduct requirement-gathering sessions and translate business needs into technical specifications, functional documents, and BI solutions.
• Lead the end-to-end development of Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualization solutions.
• Design and optimize data models, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and interactive reports.
• Work with SQL databases and multiple data sources to extract, transform, and analyze data.
• Develop and maintain KPIs, business metrics, and performance dashboards aligned with client objectives.
• Lead technical discussions, solution design, effort estimation, and project planning for BI initiatives.
• Manage client expectations, provide regular project updates, and ensure timely delivery of agreed requirements.
• Optimize report performance, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Establish best practices for dashboard development, data modeling, documentation, and Power BI governance.
• Mentor team members, review deliverables, and ensure quality standards across BI projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and project managers.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Power BI development.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
• Proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, joins, aggregations, and data validation.
• Experience developing complex dashboards, interactive reports, and KPI-driven visualizations.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, star schema, and dimensional modeling.
• Experience with Power BI Service, workspace management, scheduled refreshes, Row-Level Security (RLS), and report deployment.
• Ability to understand business processes and convert client requirements into actionable technical solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading client meetings, requirement workshops, solution demonstrations, and UAT sessions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a client-facing environment.

Good to Have

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, or Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Knowledge of data gateways, incremental refresh, deployment pipelines, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, project estimation, and delivery management.
• Experience in leading a BI team or managing end-to-end client projects.
