Job summary

Mployee.me is seeking a Senior PHP Developer (CodeIgniter) to design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and REST APIs. You will own backend components, work with a client-facing role and lead backend ownership across services.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of PHP backend development, strong MySQL design skills and experience with Redis caching. Location/mode and employment type are to be confirmed.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and REST APIs using PHP and CodeIgniter.

• Design normalized MySQL schemas for real business domains and write efficient queries for reporting and transactions.
• Diagnose and fix slow queries using EXPLAIN, indexing strategies and N+1 query resolution.

Job Description - Senior PHP Developer (CodeIgniter), 8+ Years

• Integrate third-partyAPIs and payment gateways with idempotent webhooks, timeouts, retries and failure recovery.
• Apply security best practices: authentication, authorization, SQL injection prevention and secure file access (for example, S3 pre-signed URLs).
• Own CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration, database migrations, rollbacks and production troubleshooting.
• Work directly with clients to understand requirements and explain technical solutions, trade-offs and timelines.
