Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a PCB Layout Engineer to contribute in all design phases, from feasibility to tapeout, focusing on high-density, high-speed boards and backplanes using Cadence Allegro. The role requires hands-on experience with Cadence tools, Constraint Manager, DRC, and post-processing, plus strong communication in English and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• AS engineering or technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with high-density, high-speed PCB design for large form-factor products.
• Experience with Cadence CAD tools for layout, DRC and post-process.
• Excellent oral and written English communication.
• Ability to plan routing for backplanes and dense high-speed boards using Cadence Allegro.
• Experience with Cadence Constraint Manager.

Job Description:

Job Family Definition:

Designs, analyzes, develops, modifies and evaluates electrical/electronic parts, components, sub-systems, algorithms, or integrated circuitry for electrical/electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs. Assists in architecture development and assessment. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.

Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

What you’ll do:

The candidate for the position of PCB Layout Engineer will contribute in all phases of the products design, including design feasibility, placement, routing, constraint table management, thru tapeout.

The candidate must bring a combination of PCB design and signal integrity knowledge, fabrication knowledge, cross team functional interdependence, and design process experience.

The candidate will have a background in high-speed design layout, DFX, and DFM

What you need to bring:

AS engineering or technical discipline or equivalent experience

Knowledge and hands-on experience in high density, high-speed PCB for high layer count on large form factor products.

Experience with Cadence CAD tools for layout, DRC and Post process.

Good communications in oral and written English language.

Layout and plan routing for backplanes and dense high-speed boards, using Cadence Allegro tools.

Capabilities including ability to efficiently understand and use Cadence Constraint Manager Minimum 2 yearsof college or equivalent Minimum 5+ years experience PCB Layout

Skills:

PCB Layout Engineer with strong knowledge and experience in automation using scripts and allegro SKILL language.

5 years Cadence Allegro experience

5 years High Speed technology experience

3 years Cadence Allegro SKILL language

Knowledge about other scripting languages like pear

Strong analytical and problem solving skills
