Job summary

Buxton Consulting is seeking a Sr. Oracle EBS / Applications DBA with 8+ years of experience. The role supports Oracle EBS R12.2.x, Oracle Core DBA activities, and SQL Server DBA responsibilities. Remote or Hyderabad (Hybrid) in India, fulltime employment, immediate start.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication and a proactive attitude, with experience in OCI and database upgrades, migrations, cloning, and performance tuning. PST coverage is expected on rotation.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Oracle Core DBA Administration experience (RAC, Data Guard).
• EBS R12.2.x administration and support is mandatory.
• OCI experience including Compute, Storage, Networking and Database services.

Job Description:

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Core DBA Administration, including:
• Oracle RAC
• Data Guard
• Performance Tuning
• Backup & Recovery (RMAN)
• Database Upgrades, Migrations, and Cloning
• Solid experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12.2.x administration and support.
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience is mandatory, including exposure to:
• Compute, Storage, Networking
• Database services
• Backup and Disaster Recovery
• Cloud migrations and administration
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience, including administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Must have exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Must have a pleasant and proactive attitude

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Oracle Exadata administration and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of automation and scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible, etc.).
• Exposure to high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.

Emerging Technology Skills:

• Knowledge or hands-on experience with AI-driven database administration, database automation, AI-assisted monitoring, performance optimization, or implementation of AI solutions within database environments is highly desirable.
