Job summary

IDFC FIRST Bank is seeking a Senior Operations Specialist to lead Liability Operations within Retail Liability Operations. You will oversee transaction processing, reconciliations, and customer service, while mentoring staff and coordinating with Risk, Compliance, IT, and Product to drive efficiency and compliance.

You will champion automation and digital initiatives, act as a Level 3 checker for critical transactions, and ensure high service quality across processes.

Qualifications

• Graduation in any discipline from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate in any discipline from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in retail liability operations or similar functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage operational activities including transaction processing, account management, reconciliations, and customer service operations.
• Ensure efficient and compliant delivery of banking services in line with regulatory standards and internal policies.
• Supervise, train, and mentor operational staff to ensure optimal performance and professional development.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including digitization and automation initiatives.
• Liaise with Risk, Compliance, IT, and Product to ensure operational alignment and seamless customer service.
• Act as a Level 3 or Super Checker for financial and critical transactions/service requests.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and individual contributor for specialized processes and digital initiatives.
• Ensure compliance and resolve complex queries effectively.
• Collaborate with Product, Compliance, and other bank stakeholders, as well as external partners.
• Act as the first-level escalation point for sub-unit issues.
• Manage specialized activities such as testing and transaction monitoring.

About the Role

The Senior Operations Specialist - Liability Operations is responsible for managing customer request processing and related operational activities within the Retail Liability Operations function. The role focuses on ensuring smooth transaction execution, process enhancement, automation, and stakeholder coordination. The incumbent will also act as a subject matter expert, manage complex service requests, and contribute to digital initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and customer experience.
