Job summary

Jupiter Hospitals Projects Private Limited in India is seeking a Billing Specialist to manage interim and final bill generation in the Urology department, ensuring accurate charge capture and timely invoicing within the Hospital Information System.

You will audit records, handle patient queries on procedure charges, coordinate with ICCU, Ward, OPTR, and Cath Lab teams, and maintain billing documentation, deposits, and package break-ups while adhering to credit policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure staff adherence to established protocols for interim and final bill generation.
• Undertake bill preparation during peak hours or in the absence of billing staff.
• Audit patient billing records prior to final bill generation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Address and resolve difficulties faced by billing staff during bill processing.
• Operate and manage the Hospital Information System (HIS) and other assigned IT resources/software as required.
• Take appropriate decisions, in consultation with the Billing HOD, regarding any procedural charges that may have been incorrectly applied.
• Attend to patient queries related to procedure charges and billing clarifications.
• Respond to queries from internal and external service departments.
• Cross-check patient service sheets from ICCU, Ward, OPTR, and Cath Lab to ensure correct charge capture.
• Validate and implement special billing instructions as applicable.
• Issue official letters regarding deposits, bill amounts, and package break-ups as requested by patients, TPAs, and corporate clients.
• Ensure effective interdepartmental coordination for timely receipt of billing-related information.
• Monitor inpatient (IPD) outstanding amounts regularly and ensure adherence to hospital credit policies.
• Conduct continuous follow-ups with patients and provide feedback to minimize outstanding balances.
• Take necessary action in consultation with the Billing Manager if outstanding amounts exceed the defined threshold limit.
• Maintain close tracking and reporting of IPD outstanding accounts.
