Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Numerical modeler/Coastal Engineer to join our team in Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and applying advanced numerical models to analyze and solve complex coastal engineering problems.

• Develop, calibrate, and validate numerical models for coastal and marine environments
• Analyze coastal processes, including hydrodynamics, sediment transport, and wave dynamics
• Design and implement coastal protection strategies and erosion control measures
• Conduct data analysis and create visualizations to support decision‑making processes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on coastal engineering projects
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest advancements in numerical modeling techniques and coastal engineering practices
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders
• Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for coastal management and climate change adaptation

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in coastal engineering or a related field
• Proficiency in numerical modeling software such as MIKE, Delft3D, Telemac, or SWAN
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Fortan, Python, MATLAB
• Advanced data analysis and visualization skills
• In‑depth knowledge of coastal processes, sediment transport, and wave dynamics
• Familiarity with coastal protection strategies and climate change impacts on coastal areas
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
• Willingness to travel occasionally for field work and client meetings
• Ability to handle projects independently
