Job summary

BEO Software in Kerala, India, seeks a Node.js Backend Developer to build scalable backends with Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker and AWS services. You’ll implement REST APIs and event-driven patterns with a focus on code quality.

In a small, autonomous Scrum team, you’ll shape architecture, contribute to design decisions, document planning and implementation in Jira and Confluence, and deliver robust, well-tested software.

Qualifications

• Several years of professional experience as a Node.js backend developer.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and backend design.
• In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL optimization.
• Experience with distributed systems and message queues (AWS SQS or RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity with Redis and caching concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop software using Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern backend stacks.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and design documentation.
• Develop, test, and document planned functionality.
• Work in a small, self-reliant Scrum team.

Role & responsibilities

• Professional software development using Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SQS, SAM), REST APIs, and event-driven architectures
• AI supported development process with Claude
• Active shaping of the software architecture and contributions to design decisions
• Developing, testing, and documenting the planned functionality
• Working in a small, self-reliant Scrum team
• Documentation of planning and implementation processes in the project management software Jira and Confluence

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript
• Solid understanding of software architecture and backend design principles
• In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL, including SQL optimization and query performance tuning
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures and message queues (AWS SQS or RabbitMQ)
• Hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SQS, SAM)
• Proficiency in Docker and Docker Compose
• Familiarity with Redis and caching concepts
