Job summary

GSR Business Services in India is seeking a hands-on Backend Engineer to design and implement scalable Node.js/Express.js services. You will work with TypeScript to develop RESTful APIs and microservices, and collaborate with frontend, QA, and product teams.

You will apply caching with Redis, integrate BullMQ and Kafka, build OpenAPI specifications, and explore Docker/Kubernetes deployment pipelines. Familiarity with AI/ML tools like RASA NLU is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building backend services with Node.js, Express.js and TypeScript.
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with BullMQ/Kafka for asynchronous processing.
• Familiarity with Redis/KeyDB caching and WebSocket/WebHooks basics.
• OpenAPI/Swagger for API specs; Docker/Kubernetes deployment knowledge.
• GitLab CI/CD basics; Agile/Scrum participation.

Role & responsibilities

Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and Express.js.

• Develop scalable and maintainable backend services using Node.js, Express.js, and TypeScript
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
• Implement asynchronous processing and event-driven solutions using BullMQ and Kafka
• Work with KeyDB/Redis-compatible data stores for caching and high-performance data operations
• Basic knowledge of webSocket & webHooks knowledge.
• Good to have AI/ML platforms such as RASA NLU, where required
• Create and maintain API specifications using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Good to have knowledge on containerized applications using Docker and support deployment on Kubernetes using Helm
• Basic understanding in GitLab CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, architects, and product managers.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, and secure API development.
