Job Title: Senior Network Security Engineer
Experience: 8+ Years
Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Security Engineer with extensive expertise in network architecture and cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage cloud services and optimize complex network systems, leading to enhanced performance and robust security. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, collaborative team engagement, and a demonstrated proficiency in designing and managing secure and scalable network architectures across hybrid environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will be responsible for implementing and managing cloud-based VPNs, direct connect/ExpressRoute/Cloud Interconnect, and cloud firewalls to ensure secure hybrid cloud connectivity and protect cloud resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain highly secure and scalable network architectures across on-premise and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Configure and manage cloud networking components including AWS VPCs, Azure Virtual Networks, GCP VPCs, subnetting, route tables, and network security groups.
- Implement and troubleshoot advanced network technologies such as LAN/WAN architectures, TCP/IP, VPNs (IPSec, SSL), VLANs, STP, RSTP, SDN, SD-WAN (Cisco Viptela, Versa), Spine-Leaf Architecture, VXLAN, EVPN, and ACI.
- Deploy, configure, and manage cloud firewalls and on-premise security appliances (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet FortiGate, Checkpoint, Juniper SRX, Zscaler).
- Develop and implement security policies and controls using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation tools (Ansible, Python scripting with Jinja2 templates).
- Utilize advanced security technologies including Zero Trust (Zscaler), IDS/IPS (Blue Coat, Sourcefire), and threat prevention solutions like Palo Alto Wildfire, with expertise in SSL Decryption.
- Perform network management and monitoring using tools like Wireshark, Infoblox, Cisco Prime, Micro Focus NNMi, SolarWinds NPM, Splunk, FortiMonitor, and other log analysis platforms.
- Administer and secure network devices and systems running on various operating systems, including Windows Server, Linux, Cisco IOS, and IOS XR.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network security best practices into development and operations workflows.
- Conduct security assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response activities for network security incidents.
- Stay abreast of the latest network security threats, technologies, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in network engineering with a strong focus on network security.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP networking and security services.
- Proficiency in network security technologies including VPNs, Firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, and Zero Trust concepts.
- Solid experience with network protocols and architectures: TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLAN, STP, SDN, and SD-WAN.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and automation with Ansible or Python scripting (Jinja2).
- Experience with network management and monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, Splunk, SolarWinds NPM).
- Strong understanding of operating systems: Windows Server, Linux, Cisco IOS, IOS XR.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Certifications (Highly Preferred):
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP Security, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Fortinet NSE4+).
- Experience with compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
